“Good Health” & “Beauty”

—  Where can I find it?

************************

Good Health:  Most everyone wants to have the opportunity to enjoy (what we call) good health!

On this page, I will share with you how I define “good health.”

And, I will share what I am learning about, and researching, that affects the health of our bodies.

Beauty:  Most ladies, at least, want to see themselves as “beauti-full.”  Some do not see themselves this way, though.  I will explore “why” that happens and hope to share some ways ladies (even those who are under age 15 can be called “ladies” — they may be “young ladies,” but they are still “ladies”) can discover how beauti-full they already are.  This, I hope, will open up more ladies to what they can look forward to, which they may not have “foreseen,” before.

Would like to be used to encourage both young ladies and also older ladies, but girls as well.  ( hope you know I mean any lady at any age )

Would  you like to find how freeing it is to see how God thinks about what “true beauty” really is?

Would you like to feel better about how God designed your body to look? or what your body’s shape is?  or what your hair color or skin color is?  or how tall or short you are?  or whether you have large or small feet, or hands?

Would you like to find out how others have dealt with physical limitations, …or mental limitations, or … negative emotional memories, or traumatic experiences, and have seen YHVH God bring healing to them?  (miraculous healing)

How is it that some have been discovering that there can be positives to these negative experiences or life conditions (with our daily, spiritual, Scriptural renewal going on in our minds, as we study in God’s Word, & accomplished by the Ruach ha Chodesh — YHVH’s Holy Spirit)?

I believe YHVH God has answers for us!  Do I have them all? (regarding my own life)  Not yet.  But, am discovering more & more answers He has for me, over time.  What a huge (understatement) blessing it is to know The One Who has all the answers to the many questions I have!  This will take time.  He sometimes allows circumstances, or situations, or even illness, or stressful or negative experiences to happen to us, or to those we love.

But, He also knows “how” to bring us out of those things (& out of wrong ways of thinking about those things), so He can, then, show us how we can find joy in Him using us to help others find their way “out” of the prisons of bitterness, anger, self-pity, unforgiveness, pain and suffering. (& more)

I do not believe He designs the problem or the negative event in anyone’s life!

However, He may allow what we think of as ‘horrible situations’ to happen (& I am “not” downplaying those ‘horrible’ experiences anyone has been through!! I’ve been through several, myself.), because He knows our hearts, He knows our potential, He knows what He has put within each of us that He is able to activate to bless us, & then to enable us to use to reach out to others, who have been through similar or related life events.  We all need healing!  There will be pain and there will be persecution!  Death of loved ones will affect us, as well.

But, how we find the healing we need …depends on what we do to seek Help from The One Who “is” Help, and Who wants us to receive the Help we need!

YHVH our Elohim (God) “is” Compassion and “is” Understanding!  I believe He “does” will to help us, as we make choices He knows will work “for” us, and as we surrender (yield) our rights to living as we may want to, we should see, by our doing that, that it will bring us the joy, deep inside, that we do want to experience.  HalleluYah!  He has the answers I want!  He will enable me to find them (in Him alone), if I seek Him with all my heart!  He may use other people, He may use situations He brings about, or He may use His ability to help me think in ways that agree more with the way He thinks.  But, I want to find “good health” and I also want to see myself as He sees me (He made me!)!

Hope soon to begin sharing more about how each of us can find (discover) “good health” and “beauty.”  Please, join me again, … as time allows.

 Shalom!

Numbers 6:24-27

 YAHWEH bless you and keep you;

YAHWEH cause His face to shine on you, and be gracious to you;

YAHWEH lift up His face to you, and give you peace.

So they shall put My Name on the sons of Israel, and I Myself will blessthem.

Here are some word studies in The Word, using such words, from the English, as “beauty,” and “beautiful,” and “virtuous,” among others:

http://www.BlueLetterBible.org  has been of great help in this study!  You may wish to use this site to do your word studies!

Ready to begin?

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H2428&t=KJV

The Blue Letter Bible site, using the word “virtuous” for my first study, shows me there are 228 verses in the Hebrew concordance of the KJV which contain this word.  (pronounced:  chayil, in Hebrew)

It is translated as “virtuous,” in some places in The Word, yet it is translated as “strength,” “power,” “might,” and “valor.”  It is also translated as “able” and as a word that shows “force,” “ability,” and “efficiency.”

It also seems to refer to “virtue,” “uprightness,” “integrity” and “fitness.”

When using the English word “beauty,” to do a word search on the Blue Letter Bible site, I found this link:

http://www.blueletterbible.org/search/translationResults.cfm?Criteria=beauty&t=KJV

This site shows that this word, n this form, appears 49 times in the KJV.  But, I see it is translated as “beauty” though it may originate from several Hebrew words.

So, I will share those studies, below:

The first word I came to was Strong’s (Hebrew) # 8597 (pronounced:  tiph’arah)  mentions “ornament,” “splendour,” “glory” and “beauty.”

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H8597&t=KJV

… but you can use the link I shared to see for yourself what is shared there.  To sum it up only takes away from the more full meanings of the original words in The Scriptures.  I would not want to do that.  But in this blog, am trying to keep it as short as I can see makes sense.

Here are other word studies shared on Blue Letter Bible site, related to the word translated (in English) as “beauty” —

This time, the word used in some verses as “beauty” is shown as Strong’s (Hebrew) #3303 — pronounced:  yapheh

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H3303&t=KJV

It seems to refer to someone or something being seen as “fair,” or “beautiful,” or “handsome.”

*****************

Below is a word study for Strong’s (Hebrew) #2530 — pronounced:  chamad

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H2530&t=KJV

… seems to mean ” to desire” or “to desire greatly” or “to delight greatly” or “to be desired.”

*****************

Here is a word study for Strong’s (Hebrew) #1927 and #1926 —  pronounced:  (#1927) hadarah and (#1926) hadar

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H1927&t=KJV  (hadarah)

… which shares this word seems to mean:  “adornment” and “glory”  … as in holy adornment (of public worship) and glory (of the king)

and

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H1926&t=KJV  (hadar)

… which shares this word seems to mean:  “ornament,” “splendour,” “majesty,” “honour” or “glory”

  *****************

Here is another word study using Strong’s (Hebrew) #3308 — pronounced:  yophiy (yo-phee)

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H3308&t=KJV

… this word seems to mean “splendour” or “brightness” … or “beauty” or “gracefulness.”

*****************

Here is a word study for Strong’s (Hebrew) #5278  — pronounced:  no’am

http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H5278&t=KJV

… this words seems to mean “kindness,” or “beauty,” or “favour,” or “pleasantness” or “delightfulness.”

… soon, I will add some insights I have gleaned from these studies, plus what some other followers of Yahshua / Yeshua have also been inspired to share.  Thank you for your patience!  Shalom!

** Good Health **

Good Health, as many people in America use that phrase, refers (to me) to a condition of the body, mind & soul in which one is at Peace with Messiah Yahshua / Yeshua, and with YHVH G-d, The Father Almighty, … and in which one is at Peace with other followers of Messiah Yeshua.

Now, to figure that I mean one has to have reached (what humans think of as) “perfection,” would be to not understand what I mean.  Of course, I must explain, to make this more clear, and to benefit you.  (smile)

“Good Health” (to me) refers to the result of “right” thinking in my life.

For example, when I have realized I had listened to or agreed with “a spirit of bitterness,” or “a spirit of anger,” … the result was that not only was my countenance was not “shining” with the brightness of our Creator & Redeemer, but also my health was affected.  My body’s health, besides my soul, was worse during times when I was *not* resisting the enemy’s “trap” or “trick” or “snare” to try to get me to think about life, or other people, or my Father in Heaven, in ways that do not agree with YHVH ELohim’s Truth as He shares it in His Word, The Scriptures (many people call The Scriptures … the Tanakh and the B’rit Hadashah).

Others have done much more study on the topic of “Good Health” than I have.  In detail, I mean.  The goal of “Good Health” (to me) should be to achieve long-lasting ability to do work one needs to do, for survival and to help other people, and to serve in ways YHVH meant for His children to serve.

To look (on the outside) a certain way, in body, is not a goal I personally believe is healthy.  It only leads to one, or more, of several wrong results:  frustration with oneself or with YHVH, … and “not” loving ourselves (and others, and YHVH) as YHVH has designed us to do.

“Good Health” is connected with one’s soul and spirit, whether or not a person is a follower of Yahshua / Yeshua.  “Good Health” can be achieved by agreeing with some of the following verses in The Word:

Isaiah 41:8-9-10-11 (in my understanding) indicates that those whom YHVH Elohim has chosen (including those who belong to Him through believing trust / faith in His Son, Yahshua / Yeshua The Messiah) … are the ones who “have been taken from the ends of the earth, and called thee from the chief men thereof.”  And YHVH has said unto “you” that “you (are) My servant:  I have chosen you, and (have) not cast you away.”

It also shares with us that we should “fear …not,” because “I {YHVH}(am) with you:” and “I (am) thy Elohim:” and “I will strengthen you;” and “I will help you;” and “I will uphold you with The Right Hand of My Righteousness.”  (wow!)

Isaiah 41:8 shares that Israel (referring to Yaakov / Jacob, whose name YHVH changed to Yisrael / Israel), as a people, is YHVH’s servant.  And, it also shares that Israel (calling them Yaakov / Jacob), as a people, is the one whom YHVH has “chosen, the seed of Abraham My Friend.”

(Israel includes those who are among the children of Abraham by faith, as the Apostle Paul / Rav Shaul has taught in his letters to the churches where he preached and visited.  Paul / Rav Shaul clarifies that those who are the True Israel are those who believe by faith like faithful Abraham, but Israel is not necessarily all of those who can prove it by their bloodline as they trace it back in human history. One must now believe in Messiah Yahshua / Yeshua by faith, to be part of the True Israel, according to his / Paul’s teachings.)

Why are these verses significant for one who is learning more about how to achieve “Good Health?”  They are important because one must understand, as well as one can, how YHVH views us, as people.  … as His own He has chosen.  In the gospel written by Jochanan / John in the B’rit Hadashah (the renewed covenant Scriptures), in chapter 15, verse 16, Yahshua / Yeshua shares this:

You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that you should go and bring forth fruit, and your fruit should remain:  that whatsoever you shall ask of The Father in My Name, He may give it (to) you.

This sounds like words that a human father might say to his own beloved child.  I mean, in this way:  a human dad “fathers” a child, and loves the child, and wants what is best for the child.  That dad also wants the child to ask for whatever he or she may need, as well as what he or she may want, within reasonableness.  (smile)  A dad also wants the child to do good things, producing the good qualities (of character) of initiative, diligence and integrity, of doing such things as his or her (righteous, ELohim-fearing) dad would be proud to know his son or daughter does. … for YHVH’s glory, praise & honor.  I can see these things as I consider how this verse might apply to the relationship between an earthly dad and his son or daughter.

If I am in a right relationship, doing all I can to stay in a “repent right away” way of thinking and living, with my sins confessed to my Heavenly Father, and to those against whom I have trespassed, … then my resulting “Good Health” will naturally follow / result.

However, if I allow a selfish, or prideful, or angry, or greedy, or covetous, or lustful (even for things, ladies; do we wish we had ‘one more pair of shoes’ or something similar?  Lust refers to anything YHVH knows we do not need but we have chosen to “desire”), or morally impure attitude to “operate” in my soul or mind, … one result will be “not-so-good health.”

What we can eat:

“Good Health,” in our bodies, will be greatly enhanced by our finding and preparing healthy, raw foods to eat with thankfulness in our hearts.  I hope to share some site links to articles by others which will help you if you are wanting to know more about this way of eating.  I agree with it, though our family does not, for now, “eat” the vegetarian way.  We do eat meats, “clean” meats, according to The Scriptures.  I would prefer to get all the meats we eat, in our family, from farms where the animals are pasture-fed, or grass-fed, and they spend the last days of their animal lives “out in the field” eating grass & such as that.  okay?  (Please! — no grain-fed meat for me!)

So, if you want a list of what you can eat for “Good Health,” this may help you:

1.  clean (by YHVH’s standards and instructions) meats which are from pasture-fed or grass-fed animals (chickens, turkeys, beef cattle, goats or sheep).

Meats also includes such things as the various type of fishes, and birds, and other creatures, YHVH had Moshe / Moses to write down as “clean.”  The list is long.

If you wish me to type out a list, I would honestly direct you to the verses in Leviticus 11, which speak of the “clean and unclean animals.” (not a quote; just my way of wording that phrase using “quotation marks”)  I will hope to type a list of fishes, birds and more “clean meats,” soon.

2.  fruits and vegetables you grow yourself, avoiding any chemical fertilizers and pesticides and herbicides, but, instead, using natural, ELohim-designed created things for enhancing the nutrient-depleted soil you may have bought, when you bought your property  —  I will share some suggestions for “good” fertilizers, soon.

Fish heads, even ground coffee beans, placed at the base, or buried, near your plant’s roots … can greatly enhance your plants’ growth and the “good” results you wanted, when you planted your seeds or young plants, into your garden or vegetable-growing area.

Of course, many of us do not have the opportunity to grow many vegetables, due to lack of space, or very poor soil, or unbalanced soil ingredients in our area.  So, I would suggest you try to find farmers or those who sell at farmers’ markets, who will tell you what they have used in growing the “fresh foods” you are buying from them. This will go a long way toward building your “Good Health” in the way you want it built!

3.  fruit trees you plant on your property … will be a great way for you to get your fruit.  Of course, many of us do not have the opportunity to grow such trees, though (before we had to move from one place to another, as a result of a company closing its doors, bringing us a job lay-off) we did, one year.  We got to plant 4 (looked) healthy young apple trees!  But, alas, YHVH led our family to see we had to sell the property those were planted on, due to losing a job, with no other job in sight, at that point in time.  (frown)  It happens.

Fruit trees do need care.  There are plenty of websites that you can find which will teach you how to care for your fruit trees responsibly.  (smile)  However, if you do *not* have a place where you may plant a fruit tree, or the time to wait to eat fruit until those mature enough for that (3 years, in some cases!), you may find you will be blessed if you choose to be open to trying some fruits you did not grow up eating.  Pomegranates actually taste very good!  I eat the seeds inside.  Am still learning about how to eat all of a pomegranate.

Try the fruits your local-area farmers offer at farmers’ markets.  These should be good, if you have already “checked out” what are the methods they use in growing their fruit, and (for one example) you may wish to ask “which varieties of apples do you find grow best in this area of the country?”  … and eating “fruit in season” has been shown to work with our body’s “circadian rhythms,” which have to do with us living in agreement with how our Creator designed us to live.  This “way of thinking” includes living according to the design for day and night:  we are to be active, awake and doing some right, positive things, during the day; and, we are to be inactive, at rest, sleeping, which is also the right and positive thing to do.  Our bodies are designed to work in harmony with our Creator’s design for us, in sleeping when it’s dark, and in waking, eating, working, even with short periods of rest, when the sun is up (even though it may not be shining).

4.  Why have I waited until “near the end” to mention breads?  I have done that only because it has been shown that if we eat (quite a lot) less bread type products, as a regular practice, our health will reflect this … in improving.  (yay!)  That statement does not mean I think that bread is evil or wrong to eat.  But as one who really “likes” eating bread and bread-type products, even if they are made from scratch by my own hands using what I’d call healthy ingredients, … this is good advice for me.  But, this is a personal choice, of sorts.  It has just been proven to help the health of people who, for example, have had cancer, or have been close to, or have been diagnosed as, diabetic, or who tend to have allergies to some foods, or who tend to pick up weight they “do not want.” (if they “do” eat bread – type food products)

The types of breads one eats, and who has baked them using which types of ingredients, and what types of leavening is used, and how often one eats breads, and how they are “baked,”… are some considerations you should think about, when hoping to improve your health.

Though I am not sharing links with you, today, I do hope to, soon, friends.  Thank you for your patience with me!

Shalom!
